In 1993, I bought a CH FlightStick 200-502, but have not used it. Now, I would like to use it with MS Flight Simulator 2004 (on order).

Would you please tell me if that is possible and advisable? I understand that I will want to get an advanced joystick in the future, but was hoping that I could use the CH FlightStick while I was getting started.

The CH FlightStick seemed to install well under Windows XP. Do I need dirivers besides the ones built into XP?

I've lost the manual/instructions for the FlightStick, but have not been successful in downloading the manual (Qvpfse.pdf) on the CH Products website.

Any hints or sources of information for a beginner would be most appreciated.

If all of the buttons, axes, etc. look to be working in the XP Game Controllers applet test screen, then it's fine. The questionable item is the POV hat, but you don't say whether the FlightStick is a Pro or not and if not you don't have one. If there are things that don't work, you can always download the CHANLG08.EXE driver set from the CH web site and install those. Nothing is programmable with that stick so as long as the axes are working you should be good to go.
