Hello Everyone,

I have produced a new updated bootdisk with intergrated mouse support with an improved installation utility :D

Those of you new to this Bootdisk, here is a breakdown of what it does, and to whom this program would influence the most....

1. This BootDisk is intended for those who own a CH gameport F-16 FighterStick, Pro Throttle, CH Throttle, and running a Windows XP / NT or Linux/Unix Environment.

2. This BootDisk will create a bootable DOS 6.22 diskette that will be loaded with necessary programs for key functions in your CH device.

3. After using the BootDisk, you will able to return to your native Microsoft/Unix/Linux environment and be able to retain keyfunctions for gamming.

4.This bootdisk will however, not be able to fix X2, Y2 axis support used for throttle use. This problem occurs as manufactures try to phase out the gameport by removing the 2 joystick capability :whip:

5. All questions, concerns can be addressed on the board and will be answered A.S.A.P.

6. If your Diskette doesnt load after rebooting the PC, make sure your BIOS settings boot sequence has "A:" before "C:" or "Floppy" before "IDE" , "SCSI"

Download Bootdisk CHXP102 , Unzip File and run CHXP102.exe (http://www.ch-hangar.com/files/Community_Projects/CHXPBOOT/CHXP102.zip)

Hello. I download the software, unzipped it and proceeded with the install on floppy A. The unzipped file listing does not show a file named CHXP102.EXE nor does it appear in the final product on the floppy. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Cornholio,

Copy the zip anywhere but to the floppy, unzip the file and u will find everything u need. CHXP102 is a selfinstall program that is in the zipfile. Files copied to the floopy are determened by the H.O.T.A.S or joystick you are using.

Bruce, thank you for your reply. However, I unzipped the file to my local hard drive to a file folder titled "CHBootDisk" and I still do not see a file named CHXP102.EXE. Here is a listing of the subfolders and files I see:

BOOT (subfolder)
CHXP (subfolder)
F16 (subfolder)
PT (subfolder)
THROT (subfolder)
CHLOAD.EXE
CHOICE.COM
DOS622.EXE
FAQ.TXT
FSMAP.BMP
INSTALL.BAT
JOY.GIF
PTMAP.BMP

Thanks.

Cornholio,

Run INSTALL.BAT

This will setup the bootdisk.

Hello Blazerbruce

Thank you so much for making this program. You helped me, to make my throttle work some time ago and now, with this program, I can use all the buttons on my throttle. Before I couldn't use any buttons that was outside the alphabet, like F5, TAB and so forth. But now it works like a charm :)

Thank you again and a very happy new year to you

Michael

Hello Bruce, happy belated new year! I've been up to my ears in work which has nothing to do, unfortunately, with the fun one could have with gaming. Anyway, I followed your suggestions and while the I was able to get into DOS mode I could not get my SB Live to behave. So I have been trying to make my SB Live in my XP machine via a floppy see MS-DOS with the intent of initializing the game port. I have run into a "Default.ECW" snag. It is 2 MB. Too big for a floppy. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Hey All,

The other day I got offered brand spanking new (still in original packaging) CH Force FX, Pro Throttle and Pedals all gameport versions for $35. Now I reckon thats an awesome price but....

I've been doing some research on these devices and have now found out that they are not XP compatible.

I've read that your application can make certain joysticks and throttles work properly in Win XP through progamming them in DOS.

Are any of the above devices supported by your application, I'd rather not waste my cash if I could help it. I will mostly be using these for Falcon 4, iL2 and LOMAC.

Please advise, I really want these devices but I don't wanna blow cash on something I can't use.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Dodge,

Depending on the gameport on your computer, the throttle and pedals will have full functionality with the bootdisk in windows XP. I have tried numerous times to get the ForceFX to work, but havent had success. But I think you can use it but wont have the force feedback.

I've got a Sound Blaster Audigy with a Gameport extender bracket, will this work?
Can I use a CD as a boot disk yet? I don't have a floppy drive connected to this PC at the moment.

How exactly does this work? Say I want to play Falcon 4 do I have to program the device specifically for that game and change the setup if I go into Lomac? or is it a once off setup?

Thanks for your help so far.

The audigy extender bracket should work. As for the CD Bootdisk, I need to start banging a beer bottle over my head and get that done lol. I personaly use a default set of keys for the joystick, then change the settings in each game to be as close alike as possible.
