View Full Version : Throttle microstick is physically loose

Purchased my setup less than a month ago. Have taken great care of it (even have the covers they sell at fscentral).

Today I was playing and the throttle microstick came loose, it wont physically center.
It has seen absolutely no abuse; in fact, I only use the microstick occasionally to view around in LOMAC and IL2.

Annoying as hell, I guess I'll have to send it over to CH for a replacement, which sucks since I *WANT* to play my sims.
I hope this is not a widespread problem. I bought CH over TM for quality and reliability.

Sorry to hear you got problems Animal, hopefully Michael can steer you in the right direction. Is it a centreing spring broken or is the whole mousestick assembly loose inside the stick?

I think its the spring. The microstick still functions, its just really limp and wont re-center, so its pretty much useless.

It's toast alright. Shoot me an e-mail and I will hook you up with a RMA to send it in for repair.

Hi Michael,
I'm talking to flightsimcentral about a replacement through them. Seems they are even willing to send me a replacement even before I send them my defective one. Nice people.

If anything goes wrong, I'll let you know.

By the way, is this microstick thing a common problem?

Hi guys. I had the same problem with one I bought from FSC as well. They also sent me a new one no questions asked and said they hadn't heard of this before. (this was about 4 months ago). I fiddled with it and it seems it was a tension spring just getting stuck as it would "come and go".

Nonetheless, I sent it back and received the replacement the same day. I've had this happen with the replacement also, but it popped back and hasn't happened since. Not sure why and it's not a very big deal as I rarely use the microstick, but I have a few profiles that require the mode switch and it's almost impossible to be precise when this happens.

*mumbles* ...I wouldn't have to use the mode switch if they made a lefty fighterstick...sigh

Tell Debby I said hi! She should remember me.

Great company...great forum.
