Just bought a USB Pro Throttle to play with my favorites (USAF, Janes F-18, EAW, IL2FB, FS2004, Freespace 2, Lomac soon...to many I know.....). Question is weather the usb trottle and gameport combatstick will work together inside the games control config. I mean, can I use them together if I program them in the games options.....

I plan on buying a Fighterstick USB very soon. Just don't want to be forced to do it TODAY!

Thank you in advance.

Yeah that should be no problem, but they will be separate devices. I dont think you'll be able to combine them in Control Manager.

Hmmm...

Don't know if they will work in the games/sims mentioned but I have them working in CFS, CFS2, and Aces High.

Got an F16 Fighter Stick and CH pedals hooked up analog/gameport

and the USB CHPro throttle hooked up.

Yes they are seperate items but you can set em up in the sims just fine so far.

Haven't even tried using the software for the USB device. Using the speedkeys for the analog.

Good Luck :D

Well the answer may not be what you are hoping for.

You can use the USB Pro Throttle and even use the Control Manager on it. :D

But nothing you do in the Control Manager is going to effect or even see the game port controllers. So no merging of devices.

This is not a problem in games with decent joystick support, i.e. multiple controller support.

LOMAC
IL-2
IL-2FB
CFS 2
CFS 3
MFS 2000
MFS 2002
MFS 2004
Aces High

But in games that see one controller and only one controller you will not get all of the controllers to work at the same time. The game will pick either the USB Throttle or it will pick the game port controllers.

ANY "Janes" game
Comanche 4
EECH
Falcon 4.0
JSF
F-16 MultiRole Fighter
F-22 Lightning
Jetfighter series (I think, I can't remember)

The only work around until you go all USB B) is to program the buttons (and even the axis) on the Throttle to emulate key strokes. Then the game will see the game port controllers and it will take commands from the Throttle as it thinks it is the keyboard. ;)

By the way give me a list of the games in question and I will try and find out for you. :)

EAW = No multiple controllers
Freespace 2 = Doubt it, but I am not sure.

The other's I got above.

Thank you for all the replys....

I think I am going to pull the trigger on a Fighterstick USB this week.....Can anyone recommend the best online retailer for this.

I know I will be back to ask more questions on programming when I get the fighterstick. Anyway Im stoked to use them together to see how my skills improve.

Great choice Astaroth I'm sure you'll enjoy using the new Fighterstick and all the new functions Control Manager brings with it. I started a thread a while ago for users to recommend retailers (you can view it here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27)), not sure where you live but hopefully you'll find one of the retailers mentioned in that thread happy shopping!
