G'day

I've got myself a second hand "CH F-16 combat stick" to use in Strike Fighter. However, its an analog not usb. I'm not sure weather it is possible to program this joystick, but if it is, Or someone already has built a profile map for it, can you please post it in this forum?

cheers

I'm working on a profile for Strike Fighters at the moment but unfortunately for you it's for the USB CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle not the analogue gameport version. To program your analogue stick you'll need Speedkeys (ftp://ftp.chproducts.com/pub/Speedkeys.exe) but this only works in Win 95/98/ME so if you're running Windows XP you'll either have to hook up your gear to an older computer or use a dual boot system and install Win 95/98/ME onto a spare partition.

Hope that helps, if you have any other profiles you'd like to share feel free to post in the 'Profiles' section but be sure to explain they are for the analogue gear to save confusion as the old CH gameport gear still sells well on auction sites like Ebay which I guess is testament to the build quality.

Will do Icer, at the moment the two profiles I'm trying to get done are Lock On and Strike Fighters. Unfortunately I will be working away from home next week so I'll have to install Control Manager on it but I can't really test it as the laptop is quite old and my boss is a technopohobe who does'nt like spending on IT equipement so no upgrade for me! :(

Nice avatar, good to see Oz remembered he was a nice guy <s>

Please do not direct people to that site anymore

Go here instead

My old site has been defunct for about 11 months. My new site has more up to date maps.

I've got a profile pretty much done but it needs more air miles done on it to make sure everything is functioning. Unfortunately I am working away from home next week so won't get chance to play Strike Fighters so if anyone would like to give the profile attached to this post a try I'd appreciate it as it would speed up the process of finalising it.

There's still a lot of the older gameport CH hardware still out there (testament to CH's build quality eh? :) ) indeed I still have my old gameport CH Force FX and Pro Throttle in my wardrobe somewhere...the only part the missus has left me in her blitzkreig across our wardrobe space :D I was thinking of maybe putting up a section for the gameport CH profiles...what do you think?

BTW Icer if while playing you think there are commands that I've not included in the profile and should be or you think the way I have them mapped would be better in a different configuration then give me a shout. I'm more of a casual flyer in Strike Fighters, the main sim's I play right now are World War II Online and Lock On although since the patch came out for SF it has got me back into the sim.

I'm a tough one to say whats "right and wrong" as I model all my profiles as close to one another as possible. When you play AH, Falcon 4, IL2, and a LOT of others on and off its hard to keep track of what button does what so I generally keep it real simple. Of course in F4 "simple" isn't really "simple"..lol

I'll give her a go tomorrow, thanks again for the effort!

I had a few problems with your SFP1 map, most likely due, again, to my maps staying really simple to avoid (my) confusion. Your map creates three seperate controllers (I always set mine to one) and on my machine SFP1 doesn't see any of them in setup.

Again, its most likely my misunderstanding of the complexity of your map, not the map itself. I've just been programming the stick w/o creating a CMC(?) file of definitions so far, maybe its time I looked at the manual..

Hmm odd, worked ok for me. Just copy the .map file attached to this post and give it a whirl I combined all three devices into one, going to be away from home again till Friday evening. BTW if you want to create your own feel free to use the .cmc file I included in the profile above, it has all the necessary commands and will save you some time.

Thanks Revvin.. I did exactly that. I'm trying to set it up for Shifted commands to control radar targeting and unshifted to be for visual. Your CMC will save me a lot of time.

Did you find any problems with the profile or any errors in commands in the .cmc? if not then I'll upload it to the profiles section later
