Strike Fighters Drag Chute?

Hi everyone,

Well I have been having fun programming my new CH USB HOTAS. Right now I am really into Strike Fighters (BIG F-4 FAN!)

According to the Strike Fighters Manual the command to "DEPLOY DRAG CHUTE" is "CTL b". (HOLD CTL b when using Control Manager 3.0). When I use this command (via the HOTAS or Keyboard) the drag chute is nowhere to be seen? Where is it?

Which jets have it? I have only flown the F-4 variants in this game so far.

Well Phantom II,
As an old F4N chute packer myself (NO punches :D ) I've been looking for it also. In the game, I'm afraid it's not there!? Which leads me to this question, How do we recover from a stall in a Phantom?

Come to think of It I have not seen it either. But then again I live for the Scooter not the Phantom.

Michael,
The Scooter has a drag chute too (just not in the game). We used to use a Louisville Slugger to pack those tho :o It's located right under the tailpipe/exhaust.

I don't know if this counts as a good one or not, I remember (13 years ago) helping a USAF ground crew repack a chute (geographical location classified) for a B-52 whilst I was sitting straddled on top the extention containg the chute aft of the tail. We used a K-35 Cargo Loader to get up there.

Does that sound right or is my memory faulty? Would there have been another reason to go up there?

BTW, I am an Air Force C130 Loadmaster.

Well on the Phantom, Phantom, the Drag/Drouge chute was contained in a compartment behind door 106. Door 106 is just below the rudder and fuel dump mast. The chute handle in the cockpit needed to be in the down position to close and lock door 106. Still got my old Plane Captain's (Crew Chief's) Handbook :D

The drag chute is not yet implemented in the game engine, along with a no. of other functions.

But give TK time, more to come ;)
