Just wondered if Micheal could jump in here and tell me why this is so....

I am considering buying a f16 fighterstick USB and a CH pro throttle from flightsimcentral (a US based online company) One of my concerns is with shipping these to Australia is warranty. Due to the price of postage (about 1/2 that of the stick itself), I would prefer (if the worst happens and either product malfunctions) to be able to get it fixed in australia.... I emailed Debby McDowell (not sure of her position in your company, i was referred to her by flightsimncentral when i asked their rep the same question) and she told me that CH would not honour the warranty in australia on a stick purchased online from the US.

Just wondering why this is so?? If i buy your stick and throttle, why wont you offer me a warranty in my country??

What Debby (Director of Marketing and Sales...my boss...who watches these forums :D ) says, is that if you are in CONUS we can have you ship the unit to us for warranty service for cheap. If you live outside of CONUS then you would need to buy our products from a local distributor as if something went terribly wrong we could possibly convince the local distributor to "swap out" the bad unit for a good one. Otherwise you would have to send the unit back to us here in California. Now if you buy a controller from Flight Sim Central (http://www.fscentral.com) and then by some act of God it goes south on you I can't very well ask PC Aviator (http://www.pcaviator.com.au/shop/index.htm) to eat into their stock and take a hit for a product they did not sell.

Does that make sense?

Mike,

what if the owner knows what the problem is and has enough technical abilities to make the repairs? I remember when I used my Flightstick Pro (gameport) my springs used to break quite often, and I didn't send the stick back to CH for repairs. You sent me the replacement (stronger) springs via mail and I changed them (BTW, that is one of the things that got me hooked to CH: excellent customer service!!!)

Also, when I bought my Flightstick Pro, I remember it had a warranty registration card in the box, but my latest toys (Fighterstick and Pro throttle) didn't have a warranty card in the box. Do I still need to register my products to have a valid warranty, or I only need hang to my receipts?

Thanks!

It's best if you hold onto the receipts. Some components are available to end users but some of the parts are not.
