I hope some of the hard core simmers out there are giving Battlefield a chance. This is the kind of game we are going to have to start liking as these games have a much wider appeal than LOMAC and IL-2. Thankfully there is a mod community out there that knows not eveybody wants to play quake set in WW 2.

This leads us to Desert Combat 7 (http://www.desertcombat.com/?page=screenshots)..... a good time but stil not enough cool stuff and TEAM oriented play for me.

Which brings us to the latest installment of my favorite mod to date...

Desert Combat Extended (http://dcx.serverxtreme.com/index.php)

The list of aircraft is quite simply put.... Kick :censored:

Plus you can now have your FPS friend(s) over for a LAN game and not hear wining about "I don't like flight sims... can't we play Medal of Honor?"

Now they can run around like the soft targets they are  and you can rain death on them from the comfort of your cockpit  . After a few rounds of having you hand them their :censored: I bet you will see alot more interest in "so how do you fly a helicopter".

And the next wave of simmers is born.

Speaking of BF1942 can we lobby for the Dev team to add multiple input device support??
I use a Nostromo gamepad for my shooters, but with BF1942 I have to use my CH for the aircraft. Problem is I cant use both at the same time in BF1942 nor can I assign priority to my CH through WinXP. The Nostromo takes over the #1 slot and wont give it up so BF1942 only sees the Nostromo gamepad and not my CH.
Basically I am forced to unplug the gamepad and just use keyboard and stick.
I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but multiple input device support for BF1942 would help a lot.

Thanks for the links Michael, passed it on to my mate who is a big Desert Combat fan, we have a LAN meet at his place every other month, I used to just take my mouse and keyboard but I guess I'll be taking the whole CH rig with me this time lol
