This profile uses extensive CMS scripting created using Control Manager Version 4. Users using previous version of the Control Manager software may experience errors when trying to use this profile. The profile is intended to be used with the Fighterstick, Throttle Quadrant, Pro Throttle, Flight Yoke and Pro Pedals. The .cmc file included in this profile utilises a number of commands that the user will have to map within IL-2 as some of the more complex engine commands were not mapped by default by 1C: Maddox Games. This profile was tested on version 4.01 of IL-2:Forgotten Battles with the Aces Expansion and Pacific Fighters installed.

CMS Scripting
This profile also uses a number of .cms scripts. Some buttons such as those on Hat 2 of the Pro Throttle may not appear to have any buttons mapped to them when viewed in Control Managers GUI, please be aware these buttons are mapped through .cms script and perform the actions listed in the comments box for each button in the GUI.

Each part of the .cms script has been extensively commented in green text, the six parts perform the following functions:

Part 1.
Allows each toe brake to operate as the aircrafts single brake by combining them into one CMS axis and assigning that axis depending on which brake is being depressed. This gives a feeling of having differential brakes even though Il-2/Pacific Fighters does not support individual left and right toe brakes.

Part 2.
This is a fail safe ejection sequence that requires buttons 10 and 12 (the furthest two switches on the right of the Throttle Quadrant) to be pressed down simultaneously to execute the bail out command. This allows for the command to be mapped to the CH HOTAS without worrying about accidentally executing the command during combat.

Part 3.
This script maps the bombsight commands to the microstick on the Pro Throttle.

Part 4.
This script utilises the new mouse position commands in Control Manager 4 and moves the mouse pointer to the top right side of the screen so that it is over the minimap when button 13 is pressed on the Fighterstick. IL-2 only allows you to zoom the map in with a mouse right click when the pointer is on the map so this script moves the pointer to the right location so that you can then press button 15 on the Fighterstick to zoom the map in without having to reach for the mouse. Once you press button 13 on the Fighterstick again to close the map the mouse pointer is then hidden in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I play IL-2 in 1024x768 res, if you play in a different resolution you may want to alter the mouse co-ordinates.

Part 5.
This control is probably the most useful for those like me who fly a mixture of bombers and fighters whilst online. By pressing the ministick in on the Pro Throttle the X and Y axis is transferred from the Fighterstick to the Flight Yoke without having to remap anything in IL-2. Pressing the microstick in again switches the control back to the Fighterstick. This switching of controllers can be done whilst in flight if necessary although there might be a slight jolt if one of the controllers is not centred.

Part 6.
Because this script comprises of two devices that can act as the main aircraft control it was necessary to have two shift buttons. Because the GUI will only assign one shift button I have created another using cms script so that you can access all the commands necessary to fly and fight in your chosen aircraft.

I use this profile mainly for online play so you will not find many offline commands such as time acceleration being mapped to buttons. This map will enable you to fly on full real servers and give complete control even with complex engine management enabled on the server.

With thanks to..
Bob Church, Michael Sexton at CH Products and the many BETA testers and the community here who have helped in the creation of this profile!
