Why are spece sims not popular anymore? There are few sims I enjoyes as much as the good old Elite II. I am not saying that X3 has as high standard as Elite had, but it has a certain atmoshpere (actually X3 has atmospheres ;) ) that I love. I know, the cutscenes are all crappy (I hope 1.3 fixes this) and it requires a supermachine and lots of tweaking to run nicely, but I still love it! :)

I have not included any jpegs in the zip in order to save space, but use the nice CMPrint utility and you have the images. I have built the controls around the default-controls in the controller option menu in the game. I use 100% sensitivity and 0 dead zone for the joystick in the game, and rely on the control manager to get smooth controls. The joystick section is another part that X3 is no good at, but I hope this map will help you out a bit. The zip also includes a CMC file, feel free to use it for other maps if you want.

To use the map just unpack the it in the map there you keep your control manager maps. Load it into the control manager and push the download button in the control manager. Start the game and chose CH control manager device 1 as your Input device as soon as the setup screen pops up. Push the Start X3 button, continue your game or start a new one. Then chose the option/control in the game. Chose the default profile and save it with a new name. Adjust the sensitivity settings as you want them and save the profile again.

The two leftmost buttons on the front of throttle handle are used as "shift buttons", allowing three different "shifted modes" and the standard mode. I have placed all "dangerous" commands in mode 4, requiring you to hold down three buttons at the same time to send commands as Eject or Quit game etc. The leftmost button is for mode 2 and the middle button is for mode 3.

Have fun,
Abe
