Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself.
I have been using an X-52 for the last year and recently it gave up all hope of self-calibration and had to be programmed with huge deadbands in order to work properly. Seems that this is not too uncommon and I cannot find my receipt so I cannot RMA it. Not that I really wanted to anyway.
I started looking for a HOTAS to replace it and since I've been using the CH Yoke and Pro Pedals for quite a while now, decided to bite the bullet and, having a nice gift card from Amazon, ordered the Fighterstick and Pro Throttle last week.
They arrived yesterday and all I can say is, WOW! They are well made and have so many buttons/options I can't even think up uses for all of them yet.
Unfortunately, the FS was missing one of its rubber feet but I've dropped Michael a note and asked if I could just get a replacement rather than go through the whole process of a return.
I'm using them with a soaring simulator called Silent Wings (http://www.silentwings.no). I'm using it to do some simulator time before I go for my private glider license in May. I've already noticed a huge difference using the FS and PT. The inputs are so much smoother and I'm not always over or under correcting. I also fly FS2004 like a madman and can see where they will make a nice addition.
I've already installed CH Manager 4.0 and started playing around with it thanks to the "Dummies Guide" I downloaded here. It's a great help.
I do have a question. Since the FS and PT both have 3 modes, if I assign the mode control to the throttle, it will control the mode for both the throttle and the stick but if I assign the mode control to the stick it will only control the mode for the stick. Is this correct or did I misunderstand this?
Glad to be here and thanks for everyone who contributes.
