Over the last few months there has been quite a lot of discussion about cockpits. Members have posted some great pictures of their own setups and I thought it might be a good idea to have a forum for this kind of thing, a place for ideas and inspiration to others considering building a pit...what do you think? Have this kind of thing in its own forum or keep it here under general discussion?

Great Idea!! I would like to see its own section in the forum though. It would be nice to see everyone elses setup. I guess I'll have to get out the lemon pledge and vaccum cleaner so I can pretty up my area. It should look damn cozy once I get my FP#8 and Xkeys setup properly... eh Ghost :)

Well I won't really be using my pit at all for the next few weeks...

Last fall, my Radeon 9800XT fried and ATI sent me a replacement. Well... yesterday I started getting display corruption and pixelation. So, I've gotta send it off again... my instinct is the replacement I got last fall was a refurb. The guy at ATI thought it sounded like faulty memory.

The good news here is that within the next few weeks, my new computer should be arriving from XtremeGear, with both a Radeon x1900xtx and x1900 in Crossfire. But it looks like I'll be out of flying for a while (I'm typing this on another computer).

Joe, if you're looking for pics, check out the thread titled "A Happy Day."

I have an OLD GeForce2 GTS available to use. It only has 32MB of video memory, so I'll be very limited in what I can do. But my sim of choice lately has been X-wing, so at least I'll still be able to play that. :)

Rogue... I see you are running two xkeys setups plus a matrix board for your ICP. Do you happen to have a close up shot of how you have those xkeys labeled. I just ordered the 58 key setup and will need to get busy here shortly setting it up. I am curious how you have it setup for Falcon.

...by the way that ICP looks great.

Altho, not Falcon, here's what I've got started for Jane's F/A 18. Falcon is next...

Well Kenny.. if this is a refurb, it would explain why it crapped out this quickly. We'll see.

Joe... I have an Excel file (on my broken desktop) that you can print out with the labels. PM me your email address and I'll get it to you sometime tonight. Right now the X-Keys 20 is used for Master Arm, RF Quiet, Autopilot, CAT I/III, Hook, Laser, and Emergency Jettison. The X-Keys 58 is being used for radio commands.

Yes indeed it could Rogue. I've never had a good experience with ATI is all so I'll keep my GeForce 6800 GT as long as it'll keep giving me great service. I replaced my GeForce 4400Ti with a 9800 "Pro" that lasted only 3 months. As I watched it fry itself, I decided then to go back to GeForce cards. Put my 4400Ti back in, and waited for the 6800GT. Got a GREAT deal for the 6800GT too! The deal, build a computer for a local business and I was offered for payment whatever I wanted in the computer store. SWEET!
