View Full Version : Things they could improve - a wish list

Every time I use my throttle quad and fighterstick i always think "if only they had..."
1) Force Feedback - I'd buy a new stick immediately for this :w00t:
2) Forward detents on the throttle quad - so i could program WEP or After Burners
3) Modular levers - maybe in twos so i could change configuration to two, four, or 2x2 fore and aft
4) More unique lever handles- so i could differentiate more than just throttle, mixture, and pitch (i.e. i also use hook, flaps, gear in addition to throttle, pitch and mix)
5) Option for a momentary button on the lever on the throttle quad. Maybe built into the caps. Most real-life quads utilize something like this.
Anyone else have additions to this? They should be "easily" implemented with off-the-shelf components so a complete redesign isn't required by CH

1. Oh yes indeedy! You don't know how many times I've nagged Debby at CH Products to make a USB force FX!
2. Yes it would have been nice, I enjoy mainly WWII sims but I think the Throttle Quad was designed more with civilian sims in mind where the rearward detents are better suited.
3. Not quite sure what you mean, with this? two levers attached by one knob? If so I'm not sure I see the point as you can interchange the knobs with coloured coded ones to make a two or four engine config
4. I think that's the point of having interchangeable knobs that are of a different colour and shape
5. Given the spacing of the levers a side button would'nt work and a button placed on the front, back or top of the lever knob would be too easily pressed IMO
Just my opinion of course, always good to see wish lists though as CH do listen to the community :salute:

But it would be so EASY to add this. even if it was just the detent w/o a software equivalent

I mean instead of one 6-inch rectangular 6-axis base, three 2-inch square 2-axis modular bases joined by say a thumbscrew that would via a simple USB connector cable allow you to change the layout. You could place two 2-axis side-by-side for single engine throttle, pitch, mix on the left and place one 2-axis unit for flaps and gear off on the right. or some planes have two throttle fore and two mix aft.
4. I think that's the point of having interchangeable knobs that are of a different colour and shape[/b]
iI agree but i'm saying they have SIX levers and only three different knobs. It wouldn't take much to have six different knobs so i could have the six axis all feel and look different
5. Given the spacing of the levers a side button wouldn't work and a button placed on the front, back or top of the lever knob would be too easily pressed IMO[/b]
If each lever had a contact pad and you had one over-sized knob extension with a button on it you could do a side button as long as the extension was longer than the adjacent knob. again with just a LITTLE bit of engineering you could add a TON of flexibility

Boeing-Type Spoiler and Flap knobs for the CH throttle quad.
Here is my latest project. The handles themselves were cut down 1/4" today from what is seen in the picture.
