Hi all.

Yesterday I receive new items CH all USB:
1) Fighterstick USB
2) Pro Throttle USB
3) Pro Pedals USB

Today I install Manager Control Version 3.60.

Then I am registered in The CH Hangar and I read new software Manager Control Version 4.00.

It is necessary to erase Manager Control Version 3.60 to install Manager Control Version 4.00?

Best Regards!

Hi Omsg, nice to see you here <S> Yes go ahead and un-install CM v3.6 and install v4.0.

One of the benefits with v4.0 is the install program has now been changed so once you've installed v4.0 if a new version is released it will update your current installation without you needing to unistall the previous version. As well as many other handy new features of course.

Welcome :cheers: to The Hangar, omsg :salute: .

FS = Fighterstick, PT = Pro Throttle, PP = Pro Pedals, TQ = Throttle Quadrant, etc.
FSPTPP = a map meant for the Fighterstick with Pro Throttle plus Pro Pedals (your combo, right?)

CM = Control Manager, CMS = Control Manager Scripting (CH's programming language), CMC = Control Manger Command file (contains macros of functions)

I started putting those letters on the end of my profiles to show what CH controllers were used for the profile, generally speakign you'll find that:

FS = Fighterstick

CS = Combatstick

PT = Pro Throttle

PP = Pro Pedals

FY = Flight Sim Yoke

TQ = Throttle Quadrant

so for example this (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8) profile for WarbirdsIII/2004 for the FSPTPP is a profile that uses the Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals.

Before I read your last reply from DonULFonso and Revvin, I fly (TEST - Mode Offline) WARBIRDS, IL2+AEP+PF and Targetware without problems but I need fix more. Then I use CM for test my (FS = Fighterstick, PT = Pro Throttle, PP = Pro Pedals) and then CM is crash!!!. I not vis my ITEMS in Panel Control.
I not can fly in all Air Simulations.
Then I reboot and then I vis my Items CH in Panel Control. :)

I am scared to use CM. :wacko:

Revvin: I download Warbirds III/2004 profile FSPTPP that reply you.
In which folder of WARBIRDS I must load this File?

CM Print and CM list is GOOD!!!!!! I vis Images of functions en FS = Fighterstick, PT = Pro Throttle,
PP = Pro Pedals) but I am scared to use CM.

I hope help or advise.

Have you already installed the current Control Manager v.4 (http://www.ch-hangar.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=2)?

Be sure to check out Ghost's fantastic Control Manager for Dummies (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2107): it will show you step by step and with lots of screenshots (and very littel text) how to get going.

The first and main thing you need to understand that your CH USB-controllers basically can be used in either of two mutually exclusive modes: DirectX-mode, or
mapped mode.

In DirectX-mode your controllers are completely un-programmed and seen as individual DirectX-devices with some analog axes and some analog buttons. Windows will see them as "CH Fighterstick", "CH Pro Throttle" and "CH Pro Pedals".

In mapped mode is the programmed mode for your controllers. This mode allows you to swap around analog axes and/or buttons and to map digital keystrokes to your controllers' controls. Windows will now see "Control Manager devices" according to what you've set up in the active (controller-)map.

Depending on which mode you're actually planning to use for a specific sim, you might have to (re-)select the according controller(s). If you intend to use a (controller-)map (be it your own or that of some other user which you've downloaded from this board, for instance), then you need to activate this map first before starting the sim and checking (and if need be correcting) its mapping in its control-options.

Hi DonULFonso,

Before I read your last reply.

I not know much CM 4.0.

I have problems with 3 Air Simulators(Warbirds, IL2+AEP+PC and Targetware) after I use CM 4.0 with Data of WARBIRDS
and I vis "Control Manager devices" en Panel Control.
I delete CM 4.0. Now this three Air Sim work when I vis "CH Fighterstick", "CH Pro Throttle" and "CH Pro Pedals" en Panel Control.

One Question:
1) Mode DirectX: If I use CM 4.0 with data of WARBIRDS, CM affects to others 2 Air Sim?
2) Mode Mapped. CM affects to all Air Sim?

I hope answer or help or advise.

S!

I'll see whether my wife's in the modd to translate into Spanish when she gets home; in the meantime, English will have to do.

1st off, for you, your Fighterstick always is just that: your Fighterstick. For Windows, it can be either a "CH Fighterstick" (if it is not programmed and in DirectX-mode), or a "Control Manager device" (if it is programmed and in mapped mode). For a simulation, this is a difference: by default, it expects to see the "CH Fighterstick" (if it has the first controller-ID), and so in DirectX-mode it works and you don't have to do anything to make it work. But if you want to change anything of its default mapping, then you have to use the mapped mode which allows you to change the default mapping and to assign keystokes. If you do so, you need to activate a (controller-)map. Once done, you should start your sim and check its control-options: you might have to (re-)select "Control Manager device 1" in the controller-selection dialogue.

A (controller-)map is a custom set-up of your CH USB-controllers. When you (down)load a map into your controller, it will automatically be switched into mapped mode. Once a map has been (down)loaded, you'll need to (re-)activate it again after boot-up (just like you have to enable a TrackIR, too, for instance, to make it work). A loaded map basically contains the info on the output of the controller's axes and buttons. If you've assigned some keystrokes to some buttons, for instance, then these buttons basically will emulate a keyboard. Since a map usually is optimized for a specific sim, you usually will have different maps for different sims, instead of e.g. using your Warbirds set-up to fly IL-2 (which wouldn't make much sense since they have a completely different key-mapping).

Does that answer your question?
