Hi,
I am a happy new owner of the pro pedals....while it's not usb, it will do just fine.:P

I currently have hte aux and joystick plug connected and then connected to my gameport. With this setup, I noticed that I have 3 axis. left/right pedal and rudder.

If i understand it correctly, from the ch company website FAQ, one method to use the pedals was to connect a joystick to it and then use the joystick as the device (and check the ruddd/pedal option.)

This is where I'm a little confused. My old gravis destroyer joystick has 2 axis and throttle (which also makes it 3 pots). All together, that would make 6 pots if I connect them together. From all the info I can find, the gameport only supports up to 4 pots/buttons.

So how does it work? does the pedal block one of the pots from the joystick?
is there any wiring diagram on the aux/joystick plug?
why is it htat if I don't connect the aux/joystick then XP will see the pedal but can't get any input to show up?

Thanks for the help!

If you plug the Gravis stick (it needs to be analog by the way) into the Pedals you will be plugging into the "Joystick" plug this will leave the "AUX" unused and the "Game Port" plug into the PC. This will give you either one axis (the rudder pot) or if you set it to "car" mode you will get the two toe brakes combined into one axis for Gas/Brake in a car sim. Either way you are getting only one axis from the pedals when you connect them to another controller.

When you use our Analog drivers you can use the pedals as a stand alone device. This is done by fooling Windows into thinking the pedals are a joystick with no buttons. When you plug the "AUX" plug into the "Joystick" plug you let all three pots be seen by Windows. If you were to just plug in the pedals but not connect the "AUX" and "Joystick" plugs then the drivers will not get all of signals they expect.

I see how that works now.

Another question comes to mind. Assume that I plug the analog joystick in to the pedals, could I used the ch analog drivers to use it or would I have to use the joystick drivers. Could I pretend that the joystick is part of hte pedals?

The reason I went with MS FFB2 was because one of hte pots on the gravis was jumping around too much and the default windows 2axis/button/throttle drivers did not have a way to adjust the sensivity. Since the ch driver has sensivity adjustment, I would like to use it.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry Brother but the CH Analog Drivers on work with CH controllers. If you really want to use the MS FF stick you will need to use the Pro Pedals USB. Our Pro Pedals USB will work with any controller BUT ONLY in games that support multiple joystick inputs.

ok, I think I confused you with the FFB2. forget about this....

what I intended on asking was if I connected the Gravis analog joystick to pedals, would the CH analog drivers see the extra axis provided by the joystick?

I don't want use the default windows 2axis/button,throttle,rudder option since there is no way to adjust sensivity on that.

My ultimate goal is to use separate the joystick axis and use the 3 axis for my flaps/trim. Kinda of like a cheap ver of the quadrant. From what you wrote earlier that means I would give up the toe braking but that's ok, I can live without it.

Sorry but if you connect the Pro Pedals to anything other than themselves or a CH game port controller you are saying good bye to Bob's great Analog Drivers.

ok...

now another question on the drivers. Is there a .ini file or something like that that records the response curve? Is it like how IL2 has it, with the 10 numbers? I think the driver only gives you 4 or 5 choices.

I found that when I assigned rudder to the pedals, in the screen where you adjust sensivity, the yaw menu shows no response. However, in the game it plays fine. I assume that it must be using sensivity from the driver itself rather than through the game. Is this right or is there something wrong with my setup.
