Open the options menu with LOMAC running. Choose your Joystick (or CH controller) from the pull down window. Flip the switch to axis. Remove all assignments with the clear button. Choose pitch, click the change button and move your joystick fore and aft. The game will recognize the axis and enter it in the pulldown box. Choose Save or OK (don't remember which). Do the same for roll (move joystick side to side) and for throttle.

Then this is the most important part. Flip the switch back off of axis (while your controller is selected) and remove any keyboard commands that relate to the joystick. If you leave any of these they will interfere with the commands the joystick sends. Don't change any of the default keyboard assignments.

thanks a lot ruggbutt

i'm with you through all the steps except for "remove any keyboard commands that relate to the joystick."

mainly b/c there are so many frickin' keyboard commands there that i'm not 100% sure which is which.

and wouldn't it take a really long time to go through each command one by one to erase it?

When you have your joystick chosen, you have a switch that switches to and from axis. When it's flipped the opposite direction you'll see keyboard commands in the large lower window. Remove all of those. You will only be removing the commands assigned to your joystick that were on by default.

there are a ton of commands there- it would be tedious to go through and manually delete all of them. is that really necessary?

There should only be a dozen or so assigned to the joystick. And yep, ya gotta do them one at a time.

Save (backup) your Config and Input folders once you have everything setup. If you ever have to reinstall you can drop those back in and not have to do anything.
