This one has been rattling around in the back of my mind for a while. How come the trim wheel on the Flight Sim Yoke does not have a center detent? Since it affects the calibration of the yoke instead of being a separate axis, this would seem like a good idea.
The Fighter Stick has similar trim wheels and they have center detents, why not the yoke?

The one on the yoke was designed primarily for precise centering of the Y axis when the unit is assembled. It can be used as a trim but was not really designed as such.

If it's meant to be used during assembly why put it on the outside of the unit? Doesn't the software calibration take care of centering? Having it without a detent just makes it harder for me to keep it calibrated if I accidentally hit it or something. I think I'm going to paint a center line on it with whiteout so I can keep it centered. :salute:
Also, it is highlighted as a mechanical trim wheel feature on the ch product page. Marketing speak I guess

When the unit is placed back together they cannot reach the Y axis pot. So they have to have some means to adjust it, hence the "mechanical trim wheel". :)
