Take a look at this article (http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=20396) about an F-22 at Langley that got it's canopy stuck shut. The SIXTH picture down is a top down look into the cockpit, and I see that the flightstick looks exactly like a Fighterstick. I guess if the USAF has to choose, they choose CH. ;)

Yes it does, and just out of shot on the left side is Ghost's Franken Potato mod that he now builds exclusively for the USAF :D

Beg your pardon, but it's the other way round: the Fighterstick is roughly modelled after the F-16's stick, and since the USAF has spent quite a bit of time and money in developing this design, why shouldn't they use it for the F-22's stick, too?

You're right, though, that the hats on that picture look more like the smaller ones used for the Fighterstick, too, than like the bigger ones used for TM's replicas (of the F-16's controllers, of course).

But take a closer look at the plate at the base of the stick, where the pilot's hand is supposed to rest on: the only sticks that have this modelled properly are TM's replicas - the plates of CH's sticks unfortunately are way too small, with the complete part where your hand actually rests on - the part towards the user - missing.

The part I noticed is that it (only) took 5 hours to get him out... and the damage was over $182,000.

(Being the subject for Aircrew Extraction training was never so long or so expensive.)

FYI - See JSF stick on page 7 of 22: http://www.lockheedmartin.com/data/assets/12225.pdf

THe F-22 stick is slightly different to the F-16 is the button placement on the stick. They are not the same designs.
