The Pe-2 bomber add-on is now available for purchase and download from the Ubi.com online store (http://shop.ubi.com/default.asp). news from the official site (http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/home.php?skin=S2):

Today Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, announced the release of the Pe-2 add-on for the critically acclaimed combat flight simulator. Pe-2 is the first in a series of three new content updates exclusively available for download from the ubi.com store and a selection of online retailers from April 28th for a retail price of [FR:14,99 € - UK: £9,99 - Ger: 14,95€].

The little bomber affectionately known as the "Peshka" (Pawn) is the most famous Soviet twin-engine bomber of the war. It was to the twin-engines what the IL-2 was to the single-engines. Extremely versatile, the Pe-2 served in virtually any role imaginable: dive- and level bomber, heavy fighter, night fighter, reconnaissance, and more. Over 20 different modifications were produced during the war, with a total of 11,000 built. The Peshka served from the summer of 1941 well into the Cold War, where it received a NATO reporting name "Buck".

The add-on also includes the following key features: Missions (95 Campaign Missions, 5 Single Missions, 5 Multi-Player Cooperative Missions)
New Flyable Aircraft
New Ground Vehicles and Objects

Key word to prevent buying, "Download"

Being on dial up I don't hve three weeks time to waste, lmao!

That and it appears that there are many issues people are having getting it to work and some gossip about some spyware that installs along with it, so I will wait and hope the issues are fixed and it is released here in the States on disc.

I would'nt believe all you read on the net right now about the Boonty Box software that Ubisoft uses for it's online store. It's much like Steam or EA's online downloader. I've got the Pe-2 add-on installed and although the Boonty Box program installed it to the wrong location I just uninstalled it and re-installed as the Pe-2 add-on is saved as a self installing .exe. Much of the hysteria you'll read on the net is posted by those who have not downloaded the Pe-2 add-on or never encountered Boonty Box.

Lots of BoontyBox hysteria going on out there. If it didn't keep a Windows service running even after it's shut down, I wouldn't have felt a need to get rid of it.

This thread gives the steps to completely eliminate BoontyBox:

BoontyBox is available at CNET and ZDNet as a free download - has been for some time.
There's also a game subscription service through BestBuy that uses Boonty.
BoontyBox shouldn't stop anyone from getting the Pe-2 Add-on. If desired, remove it when done.

Yes unfortunately there is a lot of nonsense being posted, there are plenty of forums out there for that kind of thing so I'd like to keep this one on a more postive note but that guide is a good one for those concerned so thanks for the link, another good link is a users CD label and DVD sleeve art here (http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=144;t=004679) at SimHQ. Oleg Maddox has posted a link here (http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/63110913/m/3161077734) for the download of a manual and training mission for the Pe-2 bombsight and compass.
