Hi.
I recently had the fortune to get hold of CH Pedals Pro USB from a store at a bargain price. The catch was that it was without ANYTHING else than the pedals. Apparantly it had been a showroom piece and noone really knew where the box, manual or CD were (actually they didnテつエt even know what it was they sold). I didnテつエt really care since I got for less than half normal price.

Well, I plugged them in (Win XP) and my system immiedately recognised them (at least that was how it appeared). I installed Ctrl Manager 3 cnd mapped them to Direct Mode and started IL2FB, my program of choice. However. The breaks seem to work (they are mapped to the X and Y axis) but the rudders donテつエt. If I choose to deactivate the brakes from within Ctrl Manager, the brakes still work. This makes me think that my profile from within Ctrl Manager does not "load" properly. Which makes me think I lack a driver or two (I was told I didnテつエt need no drivers since I was running windows XP).

I admit I am using a Saitek X45 (yeah I know, donテつエt start... ;)) and bought the pedals because I dislike the rudder controls on them, but the thing is, the pedals donテつエt work even when I donテつエt have the X45 plugged in.

It feels I am missing something basic here. I know I lack both an installation CD and a manual, is there someway I could get hold of those here? Or some help to get started? Iテつエd hate to get my lovely pedals back to the store for a refund...

Fire up Control Manager 3 and click on the 'Direct Mode' button http://www.ch-hangar.com/SiteFiles/Images/faq/cmdirectmode.jpg and then go to the calibration screen by clicking the http://www.ch-hangar.com/SiteFiles/Images/faq/cmtestcalbtn.jpg button. Do this with the X45 unplugged for now so we can rule out any conflicts with that. Do all the axis move?

Thunderboy,

The pedals should have a quickstart, installation CD with Control Manager and pedal chocks. The current version of Control Manager can be obtained from our website at http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_controlmanager.html. If you send me your mailing address, I will have the quickstart and pedal chocks sent to you.

I am working on getting the quickstarts placed on our website as well, but it will take a few days.

Thank you!!

Revvin: Sorry, I should have been more clear about this. Yes, all the axes are moving as expected when in Calibration mode. Even with the Saitek plugged in.

Debby: Thanks a lot! I will send you my email address at once!

I must say Iテつエm impressed by the speed of yout answers. I have posted on a few different forums the last few days and gotten no response at all... Maybe I should by that Fighterstick after all... ;)

You should'nt need to use Control Manager at all really unless you want to map buttons to the axis. When you go into the Windows control panel and view your controllers do the rudder pedals show as 'CH Pro Pedals USB' or 'CH Control Manager Device 1' ? if the latter try going into Control Manager and clicking that 'Direct Mode' button then exiting Control Manager and mapping the controls in IL-2:FB.

Oh and yes you should buy the Fighterstick...and a Pro Throttle (what was my commision % again Debby? :D )

Revvin: It is listed as CH Pedals Pro and it is already running in Direct Mode. However, if I disable the brakes in the Control Manager, they still work in IL2FB, which makes me think that the Control Manager is not "communicating" with my system as it should, and the reason for that might be a missing driver.

Do you think I am way off?

There are no drivers to be missing.

If the Pedals are listed in Game Controllers as the "CH Pro Pedals USB" then open IL-2, stay out of the Control Manager for now.

If when you look in Game Controllers the Pedals are listed first then your "HOTAS" section in IL-2 should look like this.....
ftp://ftp.chproducts.com/pub/Postings/IL-2_HOTAS_Pedals2.jpg

If however your Saitek stick is first in Game Controllers (not likely) then your "HOTAS" section in IL-2 should look like this...

Does that get you up and running?
