Hi ,
I just received my new CH pedals.
I connected the Gameport cable to my Cougar.
As I enter Falcon's Setup , I can see the Rudder scale in the middle,
but as soon as I touch the rudders , only the left pedal works for a second , and then it stops responding !
Here is what I did and know :
I did a restart device on CCP(Cougar Control Panel)
1. the switch on the rudders is set to Flight.
2. I checked the Windows Control panel , I can see 6 axises. the rudders are No. 6 .
3. on the CCP, I can see that the rudders are connected , on row No. 5.(with red cross and blue background).
(I tried to change the rudders position from No. 5 to the No. 6 row on the CCP, but for some reason I can't save this setting even when I press Apply .)
No one on "Frugalsworld" knows the solution.
P.S - I'm using firmware 1.0 and Directx 8.1
any ideas ?
Thanks
Asi

Does Falcon see more than four axis?
Sorry but I have not played Falcon in a LONG LONG time. :(

I order a Cougar when they first came out, just because I thought that it was a cool concept. (I actually had two because the first arrived with two broken hat switches, and TM sent me a replacement.) I could never get used to the heavy throw, center detent, or slop, so I sold it to a buddy. But I digress. :)
I bought a set of CH gameport Pro Peds to use with the Cougar, and was disapponted because the Cougar wouldn't recognize the toe-brake axes (TM used a non-standard wiring configuration). Not being that easily put off, I took my Pro Peds apart and rewired the pots so that it would work with Cougar's pin-out.
The Pro Peds worked great and I sold them with the Cougar. The point of the story is that I found a wiring schematic for the Cougar game port connection (on the Cougar's World forums, I believe) that I used to rewire my Pro Peds. Given that they worked, I'm pretty sure it's accurate.
You can test your Peds to see if they're generating the sort of signal the Cougar expects by disconnecting the Peds and testing the resistance between pins 1 (or 9) and 11. (If you can't read the tiny numbers printed on your Peds' d-sub connector, hold it so that it's facing you with the wide side on top. Pin number one is 1 the right side of the top row, pin number 8 is on the left side of the top row, pin number 9 is on the right side of the bottom row, and pin number 15 is on the left side of the bottom row. The other pins fall in between those four in numerical order, counting up from right to left.)
The resistance value should swing between some small value and about 100 k-ohms as you fully depress the left and right pedals, respectively (while in flight mode). If not, the Peds probably are not going to work properly. If so (and if you've got the software set up properly), then the problem's likely with the Cougar's game port connection.
If you e-mail me, I'll send you a copy of the wiring schematic I used. I hope this helps.

p.s. Sell the Cougar and get yourself some CH gear! I used CH gear before and after the Cougar, and aside from the fact that the metal stick is undeniably cool, there's no comparison. With the advent of Bob Church's excellent Control Manager 2->3, the only non-metallic advantage that the Cougar had over the CH gear (i.e., programmability) is no more. :)

When you say 'pedal' do you mean moving the rudder with left input or do you mean applying the toe brake? From memory the Cougar cannot 'see' the toe brakes on the gameport CH pedals without a wiring mod which you may find in a search on Cougarworld at Frugal's.
