To the readers of this forum,

I've owned my CH Hotas for about a year and a half now and have loved every minute of it! Programming can be fast and easy or complex and thorough. I also love my Track IR (won't fly IL-2 AEP or LOMAC without it).

I'm starting to get into customizing my joystick profiles for each game, and I'd like to set up my Track IR controls a bit better with my HOTAS. I'd like to press a button on my throttle to enable to look around with Track IR. When I release, I'd like to disable Track IR and return to a centered view in the cockpit. That way I can scan the sky for bandits and bogeys but return for a quick crosscheck.

What's the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

What is the key stroke that turns on TrackIR in IL-2?

Is it the same in LOMAC?

Michael,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using the standard TrackIR commands - F9 to enable/disable and F12 to recenter. I use the commands for all of my games.

Thanks again.

program your button of choice to look like this....

ftp://ftp.chproducts.com/pub/Postings/Track-IR-Toggle.jpg

this should work for both IL-2 and LOMAC

I think that KP5 should be 'F12' the command that centre's the TrackIR? usually the view keys get disabled or at least don't function when you use the TrackIR in a sim.

Track IR turns off the view keys when you turn it on?

Michael and Revvin,

Thanks for your help - that was a lot easier that I thought. I was thinking complex when a NULL would have done better.

TrackIR does not disable the views, and I usually set up the recenter in TrackIR with a different key on my HOTAS. I use the KP5 all the time to center up the view as I saddle up for a kill - after completing my TrackIR part of the engagement (high or low yo-yo, etc.).

On a different note, is there an easy guide to scripting available, or do I need to just go through and print out each page from the CH help file?

Thanks again.

Do some printing, then have a look at the scripting forum for some examples and good scripts. Then post a question. B)
