Folks,
Does anyone know how to get around IL2's restriction on repeating keys for trim & zoom?
I'm used to the way it works on LOMAC and it's frustrating to have to keep tapping the zoom everytime I want to fine tune my views.
I understand this was a way to prevent bat-turns in IL2 but that's not what I want it for.
Thanks,
Blue

I don't now about a way to get around it, but what I do is to use the analog trim axes. I assign keys to increase or decrease the axis values and to hard-set them to particular values, like 0 (trim neutral), +/- 10% +/- 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. I also implemented a trim-following mode which, when activated, causes the trim axes to "follow" the deflection of the physical stick (i.e., x and y) and rudder (i.e., r) axes, with the rate of increase or decrease proportional to the deflections of the physical axes.
It seems to me that the real problem with the current system is that the artificial delay in receiving feedback makes the system very difficult to control while avoiding large oscillations around the desired trim point. At least with the hard-coded axis values, I know that if I set 10% pitch up trim, it's going to get there eventually and I don't need to do anything else.
It'd be nice if, like in Aces High, there were some sort of visual feedback to tell you where the trim axes are set. I'm working on something that will provide that sort of feedback, but it's not ready yet.

 Has anyone programmed their "Throttle joystick" to be the "trim switch" for Forgotten Battles ACE Expansion Pack?? How do you do it?

It re-centres. Perhaps we could hold another key then deflect the joystick and release the initial key before letting go of the throttle stick.
