Hello all,

I just bought FS2004 along with pro pedals, saitek rumbleforce joystick and a twist grip collective all USB. I was wondering what the most realistic setup for flying helicopters would be for these?

I have the rudders on the pedals working fine but my elevation seems to be controlled by my fore/back on the joystick and not by the collective which is now getting only throttle. If possible I would like to get throttle with the twist grip, elevation with the collective and only direction ( not lift ) with the joystick.

Is this correct and possible?

Thank you

Well lionsfan,
Not to sure what kind of twist grip collective you have, (Bell Product? :D ) But if you had one of these (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=484) and it were out of waranty

Hello Ghost,

I am using the C1 collective from the HelicoptersOnly website.

http://www.helicoptersonly.com/shop/enter....et=dept_53.html (http://www.helicoptersonly.com/shop/enter.html?target=dept_53.html)

I was wondering how you have your axis setup for your pro throttle and joystick?

Thanks for the help.

P.S............any websites for the helicopter setups in FS2004?

I note that the manufacturer states:

*This Collective can only be used with the G Stick 11 Plus Cylic

Possibly you might wish to see if that may be the source of the issue.

In FS, as I indicated in your repeat thread, the helis are modeled with governors.
You have only the throttle axis that can be assigned, hence it functions as the collective in the heli.

You can get manual throttle control, which I consider a poor man's beep switch, by assigning CNTRL F2 to decrease, and CNTRL F3 to increase throttle, however I'm not sure that that will operate outside the governed range.

Other than the throttle control, it sounds like a simple assignment problem. You need to assign your stick and pedals to pitch, roll and yaw, then the throttle/collective as, well, throttle and throttle I suppose.
http://www.x-plane.com also has a R22(and alot of other helicopters downloadable from http://www.x-plane.org) and you can assign both throttle and collective, and I find it a better simulator as well.Other than graphics of course.

Good luck. :)

Ok, assign throttle to prop control and collective to throttle.Only problem is when you pull throttle to idle it is only at half throttle, not idle.I am not sure why microsoft did that.Of course, I question alot of things they have done, so its not suprising.
