I purchased fighterstick usb and pro pedals usb. I am running xp home on a p4 machine. I usually play il2 aep bob and fs2004.

At first with just the fighterstick things were ok. I have cm 3.0 installed with no maps, direct mode.

When I plugged in pedals, things wint screwy: il2 thought my pedals were the joystick and I crashed repeatedly. I coulden't figure it out.

I swithched usb ports but it didn't help and may have made things more screwy.

I unplugged the pedals and now the stick operates correctly.

xp device manager now shows:

CH Control Manager Aux 1 Device
CH Control Manager Aux 2 Device
CH Control Manager Root Device
CH Fighterstick USB
CH Fighterstick USB Hardware

I don't want to keep on "trying different things" as I am confused by the instructions and the help files.

Please help.

I'm off to work now. I'll be back later this afternoon to check for responses.

Thank you!

We will soon know if I ingered correctly the documentation :D

start CH control manager

click on map wizard (4th bouton from the left)
while pressing control click-select fighterstick and pro pedal
then click okay

The next page ask you if you want to combine the controller click on yes

On the next page select 4 axis 32 button
click okay

At the question do you want to have scripting answer no for the moment (you will perhaps need it in the future but let keep thing simple for now)

Then click on finish
Do your mapping either in control manager or in game.
Save your map
Download your map ,check if it work according to your taste

Next ask someone else about the CMStart utility :)

Or if you like just open the Control Manager and "Add" ftp://ftp.chproducts.com/pub/Postings/CM_Add.jpg each controller you have IN THE ORDER YOU WANT THEM TO APPEAR IN GAME CONTROLLERS.

Then just hit the "Download" ftp://ftp.chproducts.com/pub/Postings/CM_Download.jpg button.

They will show up as "Control Manager Device" 1, 2, and 3 but they will now be ready for use in IL-2 with a minimal of setup. Speaking of setup you might want to have a look at THIS (ftp://ftp.chproducts.com/pub/GCG/IL-2_Sturmovik_Setup.pps) (you will need Power Point. If you don't have Power Point you can get a viewer HERE (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=428d5727-43ab-4f24-90b7-a94784af71a4&displaylang=en))
