Hi i have today got a full set of CH yoke, throttle and pedals USB and i have plugged them all in (XP), installed the control manager, now they all work in CFS3 but not in IL2. I downloaded the profile for IL2 from here, loaded it up in the manager then went to download it but a message comes up "unrecognized character or keyword:Weapon_1-Download cancelled....any ideas?
Also is there a way to disable the throttle in the pedals as i wish to use the main hand throttle only? Thanks in advance.

Bert:
Which IL-2 profile did you download? Did you copy the included *.cmc file to your Control Manager/Maps directory? The *.cmc file is the command file that defines "Weapon_1" (unless there's an error somewhere).
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by the throttle in your pedals. Do you mean the toe-brake axes (i.e., the axes that you actuate by "stepping on" the pedals)? In any case, you can disable any axis you want to in Control Manager. But you probably don't need to to get the behavior that you want. Assuming that there's not some strange throttle axis assignment in the map you downloaded, all you need to do is going into IL-2's control set-up screen, go down to the HOTAS section, select the "Throttle" entry, and move your Pro Throttle's handle back and forth. Then, IL-2 will automatically recognize the Pro Throttle's main axis (probably axis Z) as the one it should use as the game's throttle input.
If you respond with and the profile you tried to activate, I'll download it and try to give some more definite help.
Good luck,
JNOV

Also in IL2 when testing things out, the pedals seem to work as does the throttle but the yoke does not move the plane but if i poke around in the hardware menu i can function a few buttons from it so it is being reconised.

I downloaded this profile:
http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=460
What i meant on the throttle was when i move my feet back and forth it slows the plane right down but as you say this could be the brakes?

I'll download the profile and take a look.
If the profile has assigned the wheel brakes to the toe brake axes of your Pro Pedals and you are pushing either of the toe brakes forward when you're on the ground, it will slow the plane.

The profile wont load at all so it cant effect the pedals ;)

OK, I downloaded the profile and it looks ok. (It's Revvin's, so I'm sure he tested it thoroughly before posting it.) In particular, the IL_2FB.cmc file does define Weapon_1, so I'm guessing that you just don't have IL_2FB.cmc in your maps directory.
Revvin has defined all of the axes on the Yoke and Pro Pedals to do something meaningful in IL-2. Thus, in order for it to work properly, you need to go into the IL-2 control setup screen, scroll down to the HOTAS section, and assign the control axes by clicking one an entry (e.g., throttle) and moving the corresponding physical control (e.g., the yoke's throttle) through its range of motion. When you do that, IL-2 will detect it and automatically assign it. Note that moving the control from front to back (or left to right) will yield the negative of moving it from back to front (or right to left), so if IL-2 maps it backwards, just reassign it using the opposite motion.
If that's unclear, please reply and I'll try to clarify.
I hope this helps,
JNOV

Make sure you unzip all the files into your C:\Program Files\CH Products\Control Manager\Maps directory, it sounds like the profile is calling for a key definition from the .cmc file and can't find it, trust me it works I blew a few 109's out of the sky last night with that profile :D

Ah :) it might have helped if you had said you were running an older version although in the thread you downloaded it from it does say it was created in Control Manager 3 and may not work with older versions ;) glad you got it sorted though :D

When you say nothing happens what do you mean?

Hello Michael, by "nothing happens", I meant that after reading ALL the instructions & disabling NortonAntiVirus on the tray, thence running MSCONFIG,
clicking on the Startup tab & unchecking all Norton programs that load on start-up.
Rebooting & downloading the latest Control Manager v 3.0 (CHCMv3i.exe) from the CH Products, USB download site, I end up with the following ERROR msg:
"File download of [CHCMv3i.exe] was not completed successfully due to
unexpected server response.
421 Connection timed out - closing."
In fact I was able to notice not an iota of data being transmitted, my downloader is
DAP, tried different downloads all of them successful EXCEPT CH Products.
Rebooted my system enabling all data on the Startup tab. NortonAntiVirus running
fine. I've tried again downloading the Control Manager 3.0 w/similar results. No
download (successful) ... nothing happens (positive) in my attempts to d/l CHCMv3i

OK, seemingly no1 knows the answer to my query, as I possess only the Fighter-
stick USB I've programmed my views & other necessities to my stick in the simplest of terms utilizing the ingame setups.
Insofar, I've had NO problems in flite in Aces High, thereby my problems were re-
solved w/o use of the Control Manager .... life goes on.

Take a deep breath, I can help, it is just that my DVD's of "Catch-22" and "The Man Who Would Be King" came in from DVDExpress.com. So you can see I HAD to watch them B). "The War Lover" came in today so I have to hurry this up and get back to my TV.... mmmmm TV.
Our Firewall is really strict and it does not like multiple connections from the same IP and that is all a download accelerator is. It was probably thinking you were the beginning of a DOS attack and kicked you. I can post the Installer here if you like. I have it in the original self extracting EXE file or I can give you the Installer just zipped up with WinZip if you like.

I put a copy of the zip version (not the self-extracting .EXE) up at:
http://home.att.net/~chutilityfiles/cm3v300i.zip
You can try that if you like. I don't know about the downloader you're using, nobody has ever complained about my downloads before, but worse comes to worst you can point your browser at the URL and it should come down that way.
