Shells of Fury is a simpler game than Silent Hunter series. In WWI the DD's had no sonar, no radar to find you lurking.
They can still spot your periscope a mile away, but CB.. over at subsim.com posted the solution which involves keeping scope only half out of water, catch a glimpse of the target now and then between the waves.
