wow, excellent work bud

questions please......

How does it feeeeeel?

Where did you get that base? or did you build it from scratch????

Where did you do the wire splicing from the ch stick as to extend it?

The piping, is it pvc?

Also, the chair looks good too! it's a modified office chair? Is it adjustable (slide) or fixed ? What is it mounted too? A pcs of plywood? I can't tell by looking at the pic.

See below...............

I would love to have this (it has the snap trigger thingy i think you are talking about?) ......

But is too expensive. The next best thing might be to TRY to build my own.

Your design, but with a straight stick.

Do you have, or could you draw a rough blue print? Instruction manual? Electrical diagram for dummies?

Can't hurt to ask!

heres the skinny on my CYCLIC CONTROLLER...

made of black pipe, galvanized pipe (NO PVC)..but the (collective will be PVC due to weight restrictions)...collective is sort of the throttle...BTW..

continuing on...made of wood, MDF, springs and a conduit and also the CH Product combat stick broken down..

HOW DOES IT FEEL? pretty good, definiely DOES NOT FEEL homemade, works almost like that link you sent me....i did spend about 2 1/2 months on it..

pics..that posted on hovercontrol.com

i think it cost me 125 for the combatstick, and then 150$-250$ in materials... to be honest, i wasnt keeping track.

Thanks for the additional pics.

They explain a lot. One can get ideas from looking at what others have done.

you kinda have to know what you want...i didnt at first...i was shooting for realism, but ultimately, i went for useablity...

ask your self, how will the control will feel? whatever you build it dosent hurt to make it feel like the orginial controller, only in a different form factor...

but if your looking for different feels and function, thats where the fun begins...

i have been tripping up on the collective mod, because i tried to follow others, but failed... this is my 3rd attempt in a different design, i really really hope it works..

do you have specs or a layout of that design, even a rough one

sorry dude, what you see is what you get.
everything was written on scratch notes..scratch paper after scratch paper.

i will entertain questions...

my friends tell me i should make plans and sell them..
illl think about that when i finish..i just want to finish the collective right now, and start flying.

hey windturbin...where are you?

am out in the work force trying to make a living :) But I try to make the flight sim forum rounds when I can. Am also reworking my pit, still not satisfied, 3rd times a charm.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well a video is worth even more, I can see what you ended up doing. A huge main monitor, looks like you have your 22" monitor reading a portion of the virtual cockpit for close ups and some touch screens for interaction.

Looks simular to Ruggbuts set up, the big difference being, he built his around his desk.

Both are very nice, I thought I was outrageous for having 24" monitors. You guys have raised the bar :)
