CM Print allows you to print out a list of the commands and what buttons they are assigned to. This is intended to be used along with control manager 3 to give rudimentary lists of commands to create 'kneeboard' listings.

From the CH site:

CMPrint is a small utility that allows you to print out the assignments in your Control Manager Map files. It is fairly rudimentary in it's capabilities and is not intended to be the final map printer for the Control Manager. It does provide useful information on control assignments though and can help you keep track of things during map creation. It's also useful for creating "kneeboard" listings of the control assignments for use while you're using the controllers.

Where can I get the CM Print Utility?

Use the link to below to download the CM PrintUtility. Note that Winzip is required to unzip the contents of the file.

Revvin,

Is this the latest version of CMPRINT? I need to print a map made in V.4.0. Can you advise?

Thanks,

Hi TheRealOmegaMan,

The version that matched whatever version you're running should have been in the install for the version you're running (unless you're using Vista). You had to have checked the box at install time to get it place. If you didn't, you can just run the installer again, reinstall on top of your existing version but check the box for CMPrint.

BTW, the CMPrint that was referenced here is the one called "CMList" now, I think. It was just a text file listing. The CMPrint utility creates pictures of the controllers.

- Bob

Hi TheRealOmegaMan,

I'm not exactly sure. There's nothing really wrong with them except that the Vista install uses the "Local AppData" folder for map storage and CMPrint/CMList normally looked under in a subfolder under the application folder itself. There's no reason that it shouldn't handle the maps as far as I can see, except that I can't recall whether I upped the map version in Vista. I don't think I did, but if that was done then they'll choke on that. Also, the help files are broken, I haven't gotten them converted yet, but neither of the programs is really rocket science anyway.

Did you want the CMList text listing program or the CMPrint version with the pictures? I don't know if the latter will actually print on Vista, something else I need to test, but it should still create the JPGs okay and you can deal with those with most any Paint program. CMList just writes a text file so no problem there.

If you want, I can post it on my site for you to pick up, they don't really need installation. They're pretty much just standalone EXE files. Vista might whine about not knowing who wrote them, but they should run anyway. If they get past the map version I'd think they'll still work.

Let me know if you want to try it and which one you were looking for and I'll try and get it posted this afternoon sometime.

Best regards,

- Bob

Hi TheRealOmegaMan,

I posted a zip with the last version of both the CMList and CMPrint utilities in it on my site. The URL for the zip is:

http://home.att.net/~stickworks/cmutils.zip

The file runs 3,735,486 bytes.

The current Vista installer should have your maps in your user folder tree:

\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\CH Products\Control Manager\Maps

where "UserName" is the name of the currently logged-in user.

If you put the files into the "Control Manager" subfolder above the "Maps" folder, it will find the maps okay. You might want to create shortcuts or something to get you there when you're all done. I included the Help files, they won't normally work under Vista but there is a download on the MS site somewhere that will let Vista use the Help if you need it. Without that it will probably complain about the format if you hit the help button, but leave that along and it won't affect anything.

I ran them both and they seem to work. I don't have a printer on my vista box, but the JPG output was working so if the printer package that I used when I wrote the programs is Vista-compatible (I don't know yet) then presumably they'll work. In any case, you probably have a program that will let you manipulate and print the JPGs lying around somewhere so you can use it that way.

If you need any help, let me know!

Best regards,

- Bob
