My "Big Foot Pedal Mod" for enabling more space between the thighs for floor centered sticks.

1233
Step 1) Using the pedal cover plate as a templet, cut 3/4" PLY or MDF two to three inches wider than original pedal.
1234
Step 2) Router out the back side as to notch over the existing heal so as to set flat and flush over top of original pedal.
1235
Step 3) Find some kind of flexible rubber for a new heal guard so as your foot does not slip off new pedal. (I found this garage door weather stripping at Lowes) Shape and screw.
1236
Step 4) Paint the wood black (I used cheap quick drying)
1237
Step 5) Using existing pedal covers as templet, drill holes in MDF. Screw down the new pedals over top of the original pedal cover using 4-40x1 1/2 machine screws and lock washers.
1238
Step 6) Apply stick on metal with grip (or similar)
1239
Done. They are very light weight and they Work well as long as I keep my feet in the middle and don't push with my feet all the way to the outside.

The heal guard is not as comfy as the original if bare foot or wearing socks, but with shoes is ok.

Mainly, I did buy me a much needed 5 inches of freedom between the thighs for my center stick.

I could remove this mod and have the exact pedals I had before, they are screwed down through the exact same holes the exact same way as from the factory.

Of course I do know that my warranty has been voided, but hopefully they will last me until CH comes out with their new and improved wider pedals :)

Tanks Corsair, I was able to use scrap materials that I had left over after building the floor to my future pit, the only thing I had to buy was the garage door weather stripping \ heal rest and longer screws.

one more picture , with feet................

I eventually would like to have some about 3 inches wider than this my mod.
