Sadly, it doesn't look like they are using CH stuff - but overlooking that problem, I like what they've done here with a touchscreen. I'm thinking that I could have a 22" widescreen touchscreen under my 22" widescreen monitor. I'm just hoping that Vista will allow for a monitor setup like this.

Nice.
You would need a way to access all those switches and buttons to fly that baby.
I would think Vista would\could handle it.

That's the big question - what will vista do. I don't know much about multi monitor setups. Every single setup I've ever seen has the monitors arranged horizontally. Can a person stack their arrangement vertically?

Oh, I see what you are saying. The answer is yes, they can be stacked vertically just like the black shark demo shows.
On second thought though, Any time you want multiple monitors to act as though they are one (vert or horiz) I think you have to have a multimonitor configuration software of some sort.
Matrox dh2g hardware and software would probably do it.

This software would definitely do it, I don't know if these monitors require any additional hardware like the Matrox dh2g does. I'm not sure if these folks sell their software without you buying their monitors from them?
There may be other options out there as well.

That's very helpful information. Thank you very much. I'll have to look into either dualH2G or this cinemassive. I also plan on asking the maker of the video a little more, but I'm having trouble getting him to understand my english.

I asked Matrox (e-mail) if their dh2g would work vertically.....
No it will not.
But the cinemassive software would definitely do it.
cheers :)

Awesome, thank you very much for the help and the email inquiry. That was a part that I just wasn't sure about how to do.

WinXP's multimonitor settings (Display Properties) allows you to place monitors vertically or even diagonal, so I would hope Vista keeps that functionality there. AFAIK, you do not need any special software to get them vertical if you have them on seperate display adapters(or ports nowadays with the 2 adapters per card). I have a unused display port and a unused monitor if you want me to demonstrate a display below or above another display.
As to making them act as one display like the Matrox DH2G or TH2G, I am not sure, but another option might be SoftTH: http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/

Hi lensman314,
I've seen evidence about the vertical arrangement with winxp. I certainly hope they've kept that for Vista as well. I should ask this question at a vista help group. If not, then it looks like cinemassivedisplays has what I need for vista. It would be cool to not have to run something in the background though. I have two dvi ports on my card so that part of it is all set to go.
I really want to thank everybody for taking the time to discuss this. I was just showing off what I saw and thought it was cool to replicate it. Never expected so much information to come from sharing a cool video I saw. Is this a great place or what? Again, thank you all for all your help. I think if I have any further questions about this in the future I know where to come ;)

Looking at the black shark video, it appears that it is acting as one display.
I forgot about SoftTH. The sight Lesman posted states that SoftTH works for Lock-on. Is Black shark published by the same people who wrote Lock-on? Is black shark on the shelves yet?

Blackshark is made by the same people that made Lock-on. If they say it works for LO then chances are very good that it will work for BS. The Russian version of BS is available for download - and there is a process for making it English, but the western - and English - release is likely just a mere month or two away. It won't be out for Christmas, but likely not too long after the new year. I figured I would just wait until the western release - things are too busy for me to enjoy it right now anyways.
Edit: This just in - CH Hangar's own Ghost has written an article at SimHQ which outlines some differences between the released Russian version and the not-yet-released English version. It may be worth a read to anybody.
