Hi guys. Hey, I've been flying the section8 F-86 in FS9 and it's great. It's got commands for left and right brakes. Oh boy I thought, a chance to set up differential braking. Well, it's great for taxing but the problem is, unless I depress my pedals EXACTLY together, one brake or the other activates. Pretty fun ride when you're rolling out after landing. Yikes! Anyway, I was wondering...could I somehow program each toe axis to say, press it a little, it activates the brake for that side, then press it farther and you activate the brakes command? To be clear, in the sim, there are three brake commands...brakes, left brake, right brake. I wanna activate the "brake" command by further pressing down on the pedal. My scripting skills are very limited. I got the differential brakes going but that's about my limit. Thanks folks.

Hi Chicki,

Are they analog brakes or just "off/on"? With analog you can do it. Another thing that works sometimes is to a fraction of the differential for steering, then taking the average of the two to determine the straight-line braking force. You need to script it a little, but you should be able to tame it without too much trouble (famous last words :) ).

Anyway, if you can describe the brakes, whether they're analog or keystroke, etc. maybe we can work something out for you.

Best regards,

- Bob

Hi Bob. Thanks for the reply. I had the pedals set up for keystroke. It never occured to me I could set them up analog. Like I said, pretty new to FS, lotta cool control options. Anyway, the analog seems to be working much better for braking. Think I'll just stick with that, at least for now anyway. Thanks again!

Hi Chicki,

Analog is always better choice if you can use it. The brakes using characters are fully on or fully off, doesn't really help with fine control.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear it's working for you! Have fun!
