Need Ruggbutt's help and other Experts

Hello Ruggbutt and fellow CH/IL2 Users - I have a new 46 inch Sharp LC-46D85U HDTV that I am using as my monitor (similar to what Ruggbutt's setup looks like) and I am having a resolution problem with IL2 1946 4.08m

No matter what I do I cannot get my HDTV to show the sim at 1920x1080. I followed this thread:

I have adjusted the config.ini file a million different ways, checked stuff in ATI Catalyst Control Center and tried everything I can and no go.

I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit with SPI, 4870 X2 (quad crossfire) and connecting to my HDTV by DVI to HDMI cable. I can get the desktop to run at 1920x1080 no problem and other games (like Crysis) run fine. It is just IL2.

Any suggestions or config.ini tweaks that I may be forgetting would be a great help.

I had the same problem with Lock On/Flaming Cliffs/Black Shark. It turned out to be a setting in my TV's menu. I don't recall which one it was but I seem to remember it might be related to aspect ratio. Muck around in your menu settings and I'll bet you get your issue fixed.

The problem turned out to be that there are two separate conf files when installing IL2 1946 with Vista. The first conf file is in the correct place but in order to reach the 'real' conf file (needed to adjust for custom resolutions), you need to go to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 and then click on the compatibilty files under the address bar in explorer. There you will find the real conf file and changing that to 1920x1080 does the trick.
