Hi Bob
In FSX I seem to remember a post (couldn't find it with a search) that you set the pedals to work UP to a certain speed (30 - 40 knots) so that you could steer the plane on the ground (taxiing) rather than using the CH rudder pedals. When the plane reached that speed ie for take-off and in the air the CH rudder pedals kicked in and the paddles disengaged.
(NB: It could have been in the FSUIPC4 forum.)
(And vice versa when landing ie engage when the "landing speed" is below 30-40 kts).
Is it possible in FSX?
Is it also possible just to disengage the paddles at a certain speed so that when using the Saitek Rudder pedals (oops) the same effect is obtained?
Thanks in advance

Hi Peter,

It would just about have to be at Peter Dowson's forum. The Control Manager doesn't know the aircraft speed, you'd need FSUIPC to retrieve that. and there's no real way to get the data into the Control Manager once you've got it anyway. I don't know what FSUIPCs capabilities are in that area, but it would be the only one of the programs that could read the speed. If you could get the data into the CM, you could program it to shut down the steering with a button or character I guess, but then you'd be into using a Map. FSUIPC would have access to it directly I think.

Best regards,

- Bob
