OK anyone got info on finding a way to use analog (gameport) flight controls with XP?

Will I need a dual boot system? Money is a issue right now.

Are there work arounds? Should I consider Linux?????

MicroSoft seems so arrogant sometimes :censored:

Ya maybe USB is better but to exclude gameport and force everyone to invest so much after they've already invested allot is :censored:

Control issues? :censored:

So is Linux and winex (or a variation of) the way to go?????

Which controllers are we talking about?

If you are using just a Combatstick or Pro Pedals we have drivers that will let you use them in Windows XP. But if you are looking to use a game port Pro Throttle, Fighterstick, or Force FX then you are in some trouble.

We have standard drivers for Windows XP that will let you use those three controllers in a limited fashion. By that I mean if you use the CH Analog Drivers from our web site (http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_chanlg.htm) you will get the basic axis from each of them but you will not get the Force Feedback from the Force FX nor will you get SpeedKeys to program the Pro Throttle or Fighterstick.

The work around for the game port Pro Throttle and Fighterstick is either a dual boot with Windows 98 to program the controllers on and Windows XP to game on, or a DOS boot disk with some of our REALLY old DOS programming software, (ftp://ftp.chproducts.com/pub/) called either ProThrot.exe or Fighter.exe, on it.

Truth be told if you are going to be gaming on a new PC or Windows 2000/XP then you need to look at USB controllers. The programming, stability, and service life span of USB controllers goes far beyond anything that game port controllers can give you now.
