Has anyone tried programming the gameport devices in Windows 98 running on Virtual PC 2004?

Writer,
I haven't had any luck because windowXP is still in charge of the hardware functions :(

Well ... yes and no ...
I tried the "JCENTER.EXE" with comes with the CH Throttle software and it worked. But the real important one "THROTTLE.EXE" dosn't work.
I think the joystick emulation from virtual pc 2004 is not perfect enough until now. But maybe next version will do better.

What kind of software is there around to emulate another OS under XP?
* I tried Dos Box (from sourceforge) but it didn't do.
* I read here, vmware didn't works either.
* And this version of vmware dosn't work too.
Is there something around I forgot?

I will now make me a customized boot disk and hope I can get that gameport on my soundblaster pci to work.

jo!,
All the emulators you listed I have. No matter the emulator, XP will still have control over port programming capabilities :(

Yes, XP is in control of that port. But some programs CAN get raw access on a win xp device. I've seen this with audiohardware. Unfortunatly none of those emulators do it with the gameport. Maybe they don't see the necessarity.

Is there a way to create a Win98 boot cd?? load only the parts needed to run speedkeys?
something like BartPe maybe?
I tried the bootdisk and it's it doesn't recognize my stick. I tried on another rig and it worked, I guess my onboard sound card with game port extention is to blame ( after elimination ).
I have to reprogram it before I fly other different sims, and it's a BIG headache to change Hardrives (with Win98 on ) all the time....
