Hi Guys, I just changed from a gigabyte kt400 motherboard to an Asus A7N8X NForce 2 motherboard and no matter what I do, I can't get Ctrl Mgr3 to light up the mapped mode button. It is greyed out. Should all three map modes be lit up automatically at the start? It used to work on my old motherboard, but I can't remember. I have the USB FS Yoke, and the USB Pro throttle. Everything shows up in device manager. I installed and re-installed a few times and I still have this problem. I am a novice when it comes to using the Ctrl Mgr software even though I am a long time CH Products owner, and have had my equipment for quite some time. I always get confused and end up programing it in Flight Sim 2004. This time I want to finally conquer the programming. I am probably missing something very obvious. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Bill

Have you calibrated the controllers in the Control Manager yet?

Yes, Each time I installed, I did the calibration of each controller.

and your calibration screen is a black and green grid and not a white box with a cross in it right?

Hey boris4356,
You may want to check Asus website for updates. Alot of people have been having issues with the on board USB. I have linux / XP box with an Asus board and I needed an update for both operating systems cause it jammed usb alot.

Just had simular problem. First the mini joystick axis went kablewie and then it wouldn't go to mapped mode. I uninstalled CM3.0, deleted it from my HD and went back to CH re-downloaded it and installed it. All is good now. May want to try that.

If just the Mapped Mode button is greyed, it usually means that you haven't downloaded a map. If all three are greyed, then it's not seeing the controllers at all. Try redownloading, see if that will light the button up.

Thanks everyone for all your replies. Michael, the calibration screen is green and black.
I have the latest drivers and bios for the new board. The USB is really quirky on this board., but I think I have it running stable now. All indications show that the CH Products are installed properly, and they work well individually in the sim.
Bob, it is only the mapped mode that is greyed out. Direct and off mode are lit up. I am trying to create my own map for Flight sim 2004. I havent seen any maps anywhere for the yoke and throttle to download. Should they all be lit up at the start of ctrl mgr or only after a map has been created and saved. I used the map wizzard to add and calibrate the controllers, and saved the map with the file name FS9. I havent done any other programming yet. Mapped mode still isnt lit up when I load the map.

It should light up after you have downloaded a single map.

The will all light if there's been a map downloaded at some point. Until there's a map downloaded, the "Mapped Mode" button can't really activate a map, there isn't one there. Try just using the "Add" button (joystick with a green "+" sign on it), add the yoke, and then click the "Download" button. If everything is working, it'll fuss around awhile, then tell you the map downloaded okay and the third button will light. That map will be there until you download again, even if you restart Windows in the meantime, so if you do restart, the third button will come up lit but the middle one, the Direct Mode button will be the one that's got the brighter blue band around it. Then you can click the 3rd button and it will reactivate the map you downloaded. To change maps you need to download again. Anyway, the button is normally only grayed right after install since you eventually do do a download and then it has a map loaded and it's happy.
