In IL-2 Sturmovik I have my minijoy operating as a 'U' and 'V' slider. One for elevator trim and one for prop pitch. The problem is when I let go of the direction I'm pushing it sort of returns to center. I'd like it to 'stick' when I release pressing it. Is this somehow possible?

Problem is that the Mini JS physically centers itself. It's hard to convince the PC that it doesn't.

How have you got your axies set up.
Do you use any particular button for shft.
If so assign a CMS axis to your prop pitch then one for your trim, then write a script that only recognises ministick when shift button is true.
Or you could always use the throttle slider (I do for prop pitch, activated thru shift) but prefer the rotary wheel on the figherstick for trim.

Thanks Bowman. I use the rotary wheel on the stick for trim as well. I was initally wanting to move trim control to the minijoy so I could adjust without taking my hands off the stick or throttle. I just use the minijoy now to move the mouse cursor out of my way when the map is open :P

You can try this script (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=729). It works fine in LOMAC, the initial setup is not very friendly, but once it's working it does the job, i think  .
I still need to figure out how to tell the axes to start centered. The way i tried, it would start centered but it wouldn't move.
