Just got my new Eclipse yoke and FSX Gold. Browsing the forum for any FSX maps for Eclipse, I just can't find any. Is there anyone out there that can give me at least a basic map for the eclipse just for a start? I will appreciate very much if there is. I am not a programmer but I will try to make one for myself later if I got more time. Thanks in advance.

You really don't need a map unless you're going to do some programming and setup. Go into the FSX control setup and set the buttons and axes to do what you want. That's how mine is setup right now.

I seem to be in a similar position to "agila" in that having just open the CH Eclips box I am staggered by the lack of any form of documentation
regarding the use of lit and variable controls. In the FSX control and set up I have the basic flight controls but no idear of the correct use for
the yellow, green and red switchable control. have you any idear where I may find a pictorial view of the yoke indicating their possible use.

Hi fredwin,

If you're not using the Control Manager, then they're just three more buttons, one of them is always on so you have to not use it with FS functions that autorepeat, or don't use the center position to do anything, leave it as a stable thing and use the left and right for something like the the starter buttons that only need be held momentarily. Tank switching would probably be useful, too. Open the Windows Game Controllers applet at see what lights up when you rotate it, I think it's buttons 22, 24, and 24, but it maybe 21 to 23, I just can't recall.

If you are using the Control Manager and running a map, then you can set the Mode Controlling Device on the Program Settings tab to be the Eclipse, it will give you three tabs for each of the rest of the controls and triple the number of functions available. Set it up for Take Off, Flight, and Landing Mode or something like that. It will work just like the Modes on the Pro Throttle, FighterStick, etc. which is discussed in the Help manual or you can look in the Control Manager Users Guide (the little yellow book icon on the tool bar of the CM).

In either case though, the never does anything in particular. It's just buttons and axes. They go through DX and on to FS, but it's just a button or axis when it gets there. FS determines what function it will activate, not the yoke (even with the Control Manager installed). You can only send the button to FS, you can't tell it what it does when it gets there unless you use the FS assignments dialog or bypass FS and go use FSUIPC.

Hope that helps!

Best regards,

- Bob
