Hi all,
I can't get the HID keyboard in Device manager  . I unplugged, uninstall and reinstall all without changes. All HID devices are well present - not the kbd :o - and the Root, Aux1 and Aux2 too. How could i force the HID kbd installation (win xp) ?

does the install for the HID Keyboard "fail" or just not even show up?

Did I get a e-mail from you about this? Didn't you have a odd keyboard that XP hated and you un-installed?

Ah yes, Michael, it's probably you who answered to me by mail. My problem comes certainly from the installation of a remote control ir device which i encountered difficulties to make it to work. Then i deleted some hid entries in the device manager (it was few months ago). Then the remote control worked well and i just realized since two days that cm3 doesn't work yet. Uninstall and reinstall changes nothing.
Thanks for the link to 'The CH Hangar' :D .

What is the name of the file for the device driver of the HID kbd in the device manager (when installation works) ?

The keyboard drivers are the standard KbdClass.sys and KbdHID.sys files. The corresponding "hardware" is the Aux1 device and it's driver should show CHDrvr02.sys, but I don't think that's your problem. Only the result. If I understand you correctly, you're not getting installs for the Root Device or the Aux1/Aux2 devices. If those aren't there, you'll never see the keyboard. Are you sure that you're logged in as the system administrator and that your driver-signing policy is set to "Ignore" or "Warn" (not to "Block")?

Hi,
Yes the root, aux1 and aux2 are well installed in the device manager, and the HID mouse and game controller too. Only the HID keyboard is not installed (perhaps i wasn't clear in my first message but i left school and english lessons about 10 years ago).
I'll look if the sys files are well installed on my computer (?). Perhaps i suppressed one of them when i get problems with the ir device ?
Thanks.

ok that's good !!!
the aux1 was pointed to a HID compliant device instead of the PIH keyboard device (display by connexion in the device manager). I changed the driver then it works well.
Thanks to all.
