I fly Helicopters in BF1942:DC (Desert Combat Mod) but for some reason the only CH product being recognized is my Pro Throttle. I have tried creating my own map and combining all the controls but to no avail. F4 SP3/LOMAC work GREAT but for some reason BF1942 just will not recognize anything other then my throttle...

Any ideas/expeiences that can help me out??

Thanks to any and all who help me out!!

:)

I'm on DC or DCX every night.

What controls do you have? I will send you a copy (or mod) of my BF Map.

This was fast and I was unsure if you were going to use the Throttle in place of the WASD keys. As such I left some buttons blank so you could use the CMC included with the file to assign radio commands to them.

Maybe I should have proof read that last post. It was difficult to understand and I doubt I was expressing myself well enough. So I will try again....

I use the Combatstick, Pro Throttle, Pro Pedals, and the TrackBall Pro for Battlefield 1942 and the ensuing mods (DC, DCX, FH, XWWII, SH, etc.). As such my map is a little more complex than you would require. More importantly is I don't know if you only fly in DC or if your squad has your running/driving about.

So what I did was make a hybrid map that has all of the cool flying features on it with some of the FPS commands thrown onto the throttle. For example:

On the Fighterstick
POV = Mouse movement with the Mouse Look command toggled when you move from center.

HAT 2 Up = A snap view looking back past your aircraft that snaps back to the cockpit view when you release it.

HAT 2 Down = A snap view looking over the top of your aircraft forward that snaps back to the cockpit view when released.

On the Pro Throttle
Mini-Joystick = WASD keys so you can use it to run to the helo you are going to fly.

Buttons 2-3-4 = Jump-Crouch-Prone when you are trying to dodge all of the people shooting at you while you run to your helo.

HAT 2 and 3 = Select different weapons for you when you are running around and move you to different crew positions when you are in a ground vehicle or aircraft.

This is only a partial list of the commands I put on the controllers. The other are marked in the jpegs I included and I think I remembered to fill in the comment boxes for everything so you can do that cool CMPrint thing.... Thank You Bob :D ..

The CMC with this map is different than the one I posted earlier as it now has the Radio Commands in it. I think I will edit that post with the new one today. But I did make the map so it will work with the old CMC as well.

Last but not least is the fact that I have combined all of the controls into one device as BF only sees one. All you will need to do is download the map to your controllers and then setup the axis in BF. Hence the screenshot called BF1942_Options jpeg included in the zip.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

I fly and also run around like an :censored: in DC. :)

What I would like to do is use my CH stuff for flying and use the keyboard/Mouse for everything else.

No squad here though. Wish I could find one....only problem is most of the people I meet on there are a bunch of little :censored:. I have been in my IL2/FB squad since the release of the original IL-2...wish I could find a DC squad with equal maturity. Maturity in FPS's seems hard to come by these days.

I had to change my rudder axis to U (from R) in order for BF42 to recognize it. Make sure you've just got the stick.1 (x), stick.2 (y), throttle.3 (z), and pedals.3 (u) assigned. This works for me, but if I define another axis, like v, it messes things up.

I set the Rudder axis as R in the Control Manager and BF picks it right up.

Ark,

If you are usig the keyboard and mouse then yank all the FP Sstuff off of the map and put more radio commands. I find myself using pre written ones on a button more often than the Say All or Say Team commands. That way I can put some colorful adjectives for the smacktards. :D

If you are loking for serious team play or at the very least a reduction in teh Quakers you find playing all over the place check out DCX (http://dcx.serverxtreme.com/) for modern combat and XWW2 (http://www.experienceww2.com/) for...well WW2.

Thx Michael, I'll give it a go. :)

Can't wait to get back into the nice DC air.....so many mountains...so little time to crash into them. B)

I know what you mean.

But God I love flying the "53" with a good crew.
