Default Control Manager v4.50 Beta 1 Posted

    Hi,

I've posted the first beta of version 4.50 of the Control Manager and it's available for download. If you had requested to be included on the beta test list you should have gotten and email with the information on how to pick it up, what's changed, etc. If you didn't receive the email or would like to be added to the list drop a note me at:

    chbetagroup(at)worldnet(dot)att(dot)net

    or:

    chbetagroup(at)stickworks(dot)com

and I'll sort out what the problem is. If you're asking to be added, be sure that the email address that you want the notifications to go to is either the Reply To address on the email you send or is specified in the email someplace.

I've included two addresses you can use. The first address is really the regular beta group address but ATT has been blacklisting email servers lately and the second address gets routed differently. If you get a bounce on the first address, give the second one a try.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,

    - Bob

What Windows versions does this beta support?

    Hi Steve,

It should work with them all but I only actually ran it with Win98 Gold, WinXP, WinXP/SP2, WinXP 64 Pro, Vista 32, and Vista64.

For the others, Win98 SE has always worked, and Win98 ME has always been kind of chancy. The Win98s are all pretty much dead anyway.

Win2K used to work with the XP32 install, it may still, but I haven't actually had a 2K system running in a couple of years so it hasn't been tested there. It used to sometimes not work until a reboot after the install, too, so if you try 2K and have trouble, restart it once and try it again.

Anyway, basically all of them. If it works out, we should end up just needing the one Windows installer.

    Best regards,

    - Bob

    Hi Stu,

I'm not sure what might cause is it. Nothing much in the driver itself actually changed and that's all that's operating during game play.

What exactly happens? Just when you've got them both plugged in, neither one works? Is it just the stick axes that are dead or do the buttons and everything die too?

    Best regards,

Odd, I have no issues using both for ArmA.

ArmA has an issue with multiple input devices, it scans to see which one has the most keys as the only input controller

    so

if you have CH devices, Nostromo N52, and TrackIR,

most of the time it will ignore the CH devices and see the Nostromo as the only input device ignoring the joysticks.

in this day and age games are still being released like this

I happen to use a config like this, i just load the belkin profile and unplug the device (n52 manager is still running) load up the game and plug it back in

    to Bob
All stop both axis and buttons for arma i have it set for 16 buttons 6 axis combined control which is the only way it worked before

    to BUBBALOU
i have the n53 too but dont use profiles with it. I found it quicker to change the game keys set up than to create a profile
